 Dave Hyams is a news veteran with a unique understanding of all aspects of media operations. He worked at the San Francisco Chronicle for more than 25 years as news editor, sports editor and operations director, and now is media relations director, senior vice president and spokesperson for high-visibility clients. His background helps build productive relationships with reporters at newspapers, television and radio stations.
At Solem & Associates, Dave has handled media relations and community relations for clients such as Lucasfilm Ltd., Nielsen Media Research, the Alameda County Congestion Management Agency, and the Dry Creek Rancheria Band of Pomo Indians. He has provided strategic communications services for Woodside Natural Gas, Cofiroute USA and the 2005 U.N. World Environment Day Conference. He was responsible for media relations during a successful campaign to defeat a ballot measure to take over San Francisco's energy utility in November 2002.
As an editor, Dave was responsible for the layout and content of the news sections of the 11th largest newspaper in the country. He also devised and implemented plans to cover local, state and national elections.
