Local
government agencies in Marin County recognized the need to improve
their ability to fight fires by replacing and upgrading water lines
and other infrastructure.
SA|Opinion
Research conducted focus groups among residents to determine their
level of concern and their willingness to pay for infrastructure
improvements. Various funding mechanisms also were discussed. A
quantitative study followed and this research became the basis for
a successful ballot measure campaign.
2 SA|Opinion Research conducted a
series of 11 focus groups for a major entertainment company.
The
groups targeted various demographic and geographic segments of the
target population. Retail and entertainment concepts were tested
for a major new facility the company was proposing to build. The
information was used to shape the specific details of the now completed
project.
3 A major industrial
company proposed to build a new plant in a small community in the
Bay Area.
While
the facility was in its early planning stages,
SA|Opinion Research conducted focus groups among residents of the
community to test their reaction to it. The groups generated valuable
information that suggested themes that were important and others
that generated little response. The groups gave the company a better
sense of how to position its facility in a way that would build
public confidence and support.
